So what does (a)typical day in the life of an actress look like? Well, to give you some perspecitve, I figure I’ll share what I’m upto these days. For the past while, I’ve been researching agents and managers in the NY region. I have an agent for the Toronto region but feel in order to gain any traction in the NY market, I need someone on my team that is familiar with the players there. So I’m looking. It’s easy to find lots of people, it’s harder to try to figure out if they are the right people for ME. So I’m also looking up shows that I feel my type fits with, then looking at local hires (way harder than it sounds) and then seeing who their reps are. Sound easy? Not so much. It takes a looong time to sort through all the layers. Once I have about 20 agents and managers I’ll then have to also determine whether or not I can submit to them via email or good ol fashioned mail. In this day and age, you’d think it would all be electronic but surprisingly, most folks still prefer to receive a hardcopy headshot and resume in the mail. So that pretty much sums up what I’ve been up to this week. Sounds oh so glamorous doesn’t it?
